Can we talk about Owen?

The Degrassi writers forgot about Owen being a huge homophobic transphobic sexist piece of shit and tried to turn him into a sympathetic character. This is a good model for how you should act towards assholes in real life. Eventually they will just wear you down until you are BFFs!

Owen was introduced by gay-bashing Zane and being a bully to Riley, Drew, pretty much everyone on the football team, just in case they might be gay. He makes a lot of homophobic jokes and thinks he’s really funny, because, like, boys aren’t allowed wear pink, right? He is also jealous he will never be as hot as Zane.

He throws Adam at a door for being trans, calls him a girl, is also jealous that Adam is more of a man than he is.

He tries to pay Alli to hook up with him and gets mad when she tells him to fuck off.

Owen harasses Anya in CPR class - touching her and being a creep, but oh wait it’s because he *~*~likes her~*~*, because that’s totally reasonable! He KEEPS bothering her, physically and verbally trying to get with her after she keeps resisting and getting mad at him (sooo hot when the girl isn’t into it, it’s like totally rape-y!). Eventually he gets lucky by taking advantage of her at her lowest point when she’s crying at her birthday party - SO sweet! Then he makes a post on FaceRange hinting about having sex with her, getting her very upset and embarassed, which leads to her FINALLY accepting his proposal to date! Awww, see, it takes a while for girls to figure out what they want, on account of their ladybrains!!

Then he is a super awesome supportive boyfriend, just forget about all that other stuff. Anya did coke a couple times and danced at a club so they are totally even now.
